The founder of Bonum Vitae, Lioudmila Boldyreva sought out to create a bread that had little to no carbs that was not just appealing visually but also in terms of taste and texture. She wanted to take the qualities in bread that were craved and valued by consumers worldwide and create an alternative that did not make one feel as if they had to compromise health for good taste.
Creation of a low-carbohydrate bread was not the aim, as this has been done before. Lioudmila wanted a low carbohydrate bread that also had a number of healthy active ingredients that would promote and aid digestion and general health. It would also suit popular low-carbohydrate diets, such as the Ketogenic diet, followed by millions worldwide; She has also formulated a gluten-free version of the bread for those with an intolerance or allergy to gluten. Health benefits include certain fibres which are good for the gut, regulating blood sugar and cholesterol.
Another ingredient in the bread helps suppress appetite and discourages overeating, while also being rich in Omega-3 fatty acid, also helping to regulate blood sugar, lowering the risk of heart disease, menopausal symptoms, osteoporosis and reducing the risk of breast cancer. Other ingredients in the bread provide a vital source of minerals such as selenium and iron.
The bread also contains ingredients that help encourage regular bowel movements, as well as including a replacement for sugar that is good for both diabetics and health conscious people. This bread has been used for a variety of purposes such as sandwiches, burger buns, bagels, toast, for dipping and everything else you could wish to use it for as the bread is not too savoury or sweet and generally tends to accommodate most accompaniments in a very balanced way, so as not to be dull yet not to overpower the taste. Lioudmila Boldyreva has been cooking since a very young age and has always had a strong passion for researching ingredients and recipes that promote and improve health. This has led her to conduct a large number of experiments with regards to her cooking, of which has led to the creation of this bread and many other healthy dishes, sauces, sides, cakes and more.
